Guitar Factories in Mactan Island, Cebu

Another tourist destination in Cebu is the guitar factories in Mactan Island, customized guitars according to your body and hand measurements are available at affordable price. Cebu guitars are known for their durability, best quality, and world-class unique sound. These are well crafted by the hard-working Cebuanos to have its quality sound and for their customers’ satisfaction.

Cebu-made guitars are popular not just in foriegn tourists but also in locals who are music lover and for those wannabe like me (nah.. everybody knows that Filipinos are musical people, we have this “Karaoke everywhere anytime”syndrome, in my company we have a monthly “teambuilding” in Gimik KTV, K1 in crossroads, Rainbow KTV in mabolo, and POD 5 in Banilad Town Center).

I had my first guitar 6 years ago from my uncle who gave me as a graduation gift, until now my guitar is still rocking cool.. I remember when we bought my guitar, it has an original price of 6,000 pesos but the owner gave us a 1,500 discount after an hour of haggling.

Last June we visited Alegre Guitars factory, one of the famous guitar maker on the island. They have a friendly staff who introduced us to different kind of guitars (sorry… I can’t remember what he said, I was busy taking pictures.) But, whatever he said, their guitars are so great.

There are souvenirs like decorative mini-guitars and ukeleles are available as well.

They have a lot of guitars in their store; Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitars, Electric Guitars and more string instruments. Wide selections depending on types and tones of woods commonly used for guitar backs and sides.
