Taoist Temple
BlogPublished November 2, 2010 at 3:54 pm View CommentsLocated in Beverly Hills Subdivision, Taoist temple is another well known tourist spot here in Cebu. The temple was built in 1972 by the substantial Chinese community as a center of worship of Taoism in Cebu. Going to the temple you must take its 81 steps representing the 81 chapters of Taoism scriptures.
The temple itself is a very nice place to relax and feel the fresh air away from the urban crowd of Cebu. The temple includes a chapel, a library, and a wishing well. Of course you can take pictures of the place except the altar and the sacred statues.
The Taoist temple is open to public for viewing though rules are implemented to preserve the solemnity of the place and those devotees that were praying. There are a lot of people visiting here every day; school field trips, locals, foreigners, and our friends Koreans. If you’re planning to come to Cebu, don’t miss to see this temple…
